My Philosophy
My approach is somewhat different than many Realtors in that
I choose to work with fewer clients and deliver superior service. My goal is to
develop a life-long partnership with my clients based on a high degree of trust
by assisting them not only before and during the transaction, but on a
continuing basis long after the transaction has closed. This includes not just answering your
questions and concerns about the home you purchased, but by providing you with
referrals for everything from handymen to remodeling contractors that will provide
you with an excellent result at a reasonable rate.
By offering a superior level of professional service,
loyalty and dedication, I hope for the same degree of loyalty from my clients so
that they think of me when they are ready to buy or sell again. And further,
that they refer their neighbors, friends and family for me to assist them with
their real estate needs. My goal is to be your go-to real estate consultant and
to establish a long term mutually beneficial relationship.
My Background
Residential real estate has been my full time career since
2000. In 2001 I became a Broker and operated my own independent office before
joining Keller Williams in Pleasanton as a Broker Associate in 2008 (a Realtor
who holds the Salesman license, can accept clients only if they are associated
with someone who holds a Broker license). Prior to my real estate career, I
held management and executive positions in Massachusetts and California
organizations, including a stint as CEO of an alternative dispute resolution
company that I owned with another attorney.
Before that I was in the full time legal practice for 12
years in my native state of Washington where I am still a member of the Bar. As
an attorney, I focused on business and real estate matters representing buyers,
sellers, design professionals, contractors and developers. As a sole
practitioner, my office served as the escrow agent for over 200 real property sale
transactions. In that capacity I was responsible for production of the
necessary legal documentation pertaining to real estate sales (including
construction contracts, leases, deeds of trust, promissory notes, well
agreements, easements, etc.) My commercial clients included a marina, telephone
exchange, a steel manufacturer, a steel fabrication contractor and a large banking concern.
As an associate of a construction defect litigation firm in
Seattle, I represented design professionals including architects and engineers.
Most of active practice of law was conducted from my office in Bellevue, Washington.
As a trial lawyer, I tried over 100 cases before judges and juries, mostly in
King County Superior Court, winning over 96% of them.
My knowledge of construction began with my training as an
electrician in the U.S. Marines, and continued on the job as I worked my way
through college as an electrician and drywaller. Of course my legal work as a construction
defect litigator, and my business in construction alternative dispute
resolution have advanced that knowledge greatly, as has the 10 years I’ve been
in the full time practice of residential real estate.
Keller Williams
I joined Keller Williams Realty because of its corporate
culture and dedication to customer service and the high professionalism
demanded of its agents. The firm has done well, winning the J.D. Powers and
Associates award for buyer customer satisfaction now for 2008 and 2009 over all
other firms. The company stresses on-going
professional training and education and encourages the highest degree of
professional ethics.
As a result of this approach, Keller Williams has attracted
some of the very best agents in the business and moved to become the third
largest real estate firm nationwide at the beginning of 2009. Unlike most of
the other well known franchise offices, Keller Williams is debt-free and
growing, not declining.
